Rooftopping in New York City

You can find a rooftop bar pretty much anywhere in Manhatten. The majority of rooftop bars have spectacular views of the city skyline and parks depending on where you go. There are some rooftops that are only open during the summer months so plan your trips accordingly or you might be left disappointed 😉

LE BAIN

Where: 848 Washington St, New York, NY 10014

The views span the W to SE and are incredible to look at, although it is abit of a nightmare to take photographs as there tends to be so many people up there, particularly in the summer.  If you come here on a humid day make sure you wear a hat or sunblock as there is no shade. Drinks are typical London prices at $12 -18 for a cocktail. There is a penthouse bar which sells pancakes/crepe but you can only pay by credit card.

MONARCH

Where: 71 W 35th St, New York, NY 10018

The only reason I visited this penthouse lounge is because my friend from HSBC was having work drinks here and I tagged along. The interior design to this place evokes a Scandinavian lodge, with wood-paneled walls, floral armchairs and black pendant lamps. Sip cocktails with a view of the Empire State Building in the background.

MR PURPLE

Where: Hotel Indigo, 180 Orchard St, New York, NY 10002

This is a really cool hotel to visit in the Lower East Side. It is a 15th-floor bar that crowns the Hotel Indigo and has a rooftop pool accessible to hotel members and non members (but for $50 per day).
