After spending weeks in MBK shopping mall I grew tired of all the hustle and bustle and the lack of clothing available. The Platinum Fashion Mall is Thailand’s largest Fashion Mall and reminds me of an indoor version of the Chatuchak Weekend Market. This Fashion Mall is specializes in wholesale fashion clothing and accessories.
The Platinum Fashion Mall is broken into three huge zones spanning 7 floors divided into handbags, shoes, dresses, men’s clothes. It is one of the better shopping malls for clothing in Bangkok. Each floor of Platinum Fashion Mall is named after famous shopping districts around the world, namely Orchard, Nathan, Ginza, Soho, Oxford and Camden. Roughly, the four floors of retail shopping space are dedicated to men’s and women’s clothing, leathers, shoes and fashion accessories.
This mall has two buildings with a connecting bridge on the second floor. The bigger building is divided into 2 zones: zone 1 and zone 2. The smaller building is called zone 3. In total there are 2,000 shops here.
Zone 1 & 2
You can expect better prices offered if you buy more than one item. Be taken back by the staggering amount of fake designer items filling each floor. Bargain and barter. The more items you buy the cheaper they get.
The food court is located on the sixth floor of Platinum Fashion mall. Be aware that you need to change your money into coupon first before you can buy food or drink. This coupon is like swipe debit card. You can deposit a certain amount to the card at coupon counters then for each transaction or food/drink purchase the amount will be deducted on your card after swiping it on the machine. You may return the card after dining to coupon counters to refund the remaining amount.
The three zones in Platinum Fashion Mall are split into building A and building B. There is a connecting bridge on floor two that allows you access.
Before you come here to shop remember:
- It is Cash only. Most shops accept only cash payment. The ATM machines are available in the mall.
- It takes will take you almost an entire day to explore all shops. So, be prepared!
- The majority of shops are aimed at ladies and there are no fitting rooms. They do not allow you to try on the clothes.
- Most clothes are free size which means standard size. Only some shops have larger sizes available so make sure you measure your waist before buying. They tend to sell S, M, L.
