Laura Mercier: Secret Camouflage

Conceal discolorations, imperfections and redness with Laura’s iconic concealer. Oil free and long wearing, this unique two-toned camouflage allows you to customize the colour to meet your needs. Suitable for all skin types, even sensitive.- Laura Mercier

This ultimate concealer palette blends easily with a high level of pigment that requires little product to provide all round coverage. It completely camouflages the appearance of dark circles, minor imperfections and discolorations. Secret Camouflage is an oil free base with long lasting wear. This handy compact features a unique two-shade system, one to modify the skins depth of colour and the other to match the skins undertone.

Packaged in a brown/purple shimmery box similar to her other products. Its light-weight and portable. The consistency of the product is quite parched and heavily pigmented allowing this texture to conceal spots effectively.

When using this item for the first time I was unsure about the right way of applying it. There is no set way of applying it. I tend to apply before foundation and sometimes a small amount on top at the end. I start with the lighter shade of the two, dabbing it onto wherever I want to conceal, either under the eyes, over scars, pimples or pigmented skin. I then focus on the darker shade, blending this on top of the other colour paying close attention to the way it is being blended. Other users of the concealer tend to blend the two shades together on their hand to create colour and then apply. Whichever way suits you best. I then go on to apply Laura Mercier Oil Free Supreme foundation for a flawless finish.

Warm the concealer on the back of your hand until it forms a creamy base and apply using a small brush for pinpoint concealing. Once you feel that it’s not as hard in texture, dot the product to the spot or wherever you wish to conceal. Afterwards use the synthetic Secret Camoflage Brush by Laura Mercier to blend the corners of eyes, scars or pimples.

What I liked about this product is its ability to cover dark circles and pimples without making skin look dry or cakey.  This is the first concealer I have used that has two colours to help you customise the colour to match your skin tone with the added bonus of an oil free base.

This concealer definitely lives up to the hype! It covers up spots and marks and provides great coverage with its buildable formula to achieve a natural flawless finish without looking caked on. However, if dark circle is your only concern then I will not suggest this one as it can be a bit too much under the eyes.

The Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer is also available in quite a wide range of shades to suit all skin tones and available from House of Fraser and online at
