Ever wondered how the latest spring beauty trend would look on yourself, but you are too
afraid to give it a go?
Boots launched their ‘Boots Give It a Go’ event at the Red consultancy PR agency, based in
Piccadilly Circus, to showcase new Spring Summer 2013 trends on Friday 15th March.
Bold lips, texturized hair and half-moon nails are the key tends for the coming season
The purpose of the event was to allow guests to experiment the latest 2013 hair, makeup
and nail trends with an array of products available in Boots stores with the guidance of
experts in the beauty and cosmetics industry.
Sticking to a candy store theme introducing bright pastel colours for the spring/summer
season throughout, experts were on hand in three separate rooms; Nail bar, pop-up hair
salon and No7 and Seventeen makeup stations.
Placed around the room were giant candy jars filled with pick ‘n’ mix sweets and Seventeen candy
pops as well as lots of makeup products to play around with. The white coach with lip
cusions added a touch of glamour.

No7 Makeup Station
No7 Makeup Team makeup lounge
The consultants at No7 lounge introduced us to the new spring and summer trends for eyes and lips.
For lips we are slowly moving away from darker winter shades to deep, rich colours suchas
purple and dark red to bright coral reds. Model Cara Delevinge pulls off that strong coral/red lip look at the Moschino Spring Summer ’13 show.
For that classic red pout we tried and tested a few of No7 and
Seventeen’s classic lipsticks, such as; No7 Stay Perfect Lipsticks -Love
Red and Moisture drench -Siren.
Light up your eyes with creamy liner with metallic toned colours this
At the event No7 showed us how to master this great look and gave
some advice for eye colour with the new No7 Metallic Eyes Pencil
featured in teal blue and camouflage green colours.
This teal colour was applied to lower lash line. It is extremely easy to
apply and has excellent staying power. For added colour intensity it
is recommended to dab the eye pencil with a facial wipe.
No7 Nail Bar
Celebrity nail manicurist Marianne Newman and her team of nail experts were giving half
moon manicures and other creative nail art, such as zig zag, glitter, studded effect patterns
that are easy to do at home. We were even given the opportunity to try it ourselves to see
how easy it is to master creative nails.

”Soft and rough texture curls, beach waves and fishtail plaits. Not only did we get our hair
done, but we managed to get lots of top hair tips too!” Sabi Bassi @GlossaholicBlog,
Marketing events Intern
There was even a photo-booth machine present at the event which was a great opportunity to have fun!
There was a pop-up hair salon present at the event. Hair stylist Marc Coates was there with a team of hair experts and stylists from Bumble & Bumble, Mark Hill and Ojon in the pop-up hair salon. They each had a station to recreate the hair trends straight off the runway.
Texture is the look for this season from pretty braids, wavy hair and big curls; Bumble and
Bumble created a messy, undone style using their Surf Spray and a curling tong.
Susanna Sek, @Susiesek, Marketing events Intern, was seen by a consultant from Ojin who showed her how to transform her hair to perfect health.
Susanna has very long hair so was recommended to use the Restorative Hair Treatment
Plus every week and the Rare Blend Oil to protect her hair from heat damage caused from
straightening and curling.
In terms of styling she was given tips on how to build volume through the hair near the scalp area. Within just ten minutes her hair was transformed from just from cutting a few layers into her hair and being shown how to blow dry it using a round brush.
